The Gramophone is a craftable Item exclusive to Don't Starve Together, introduced as a part of the From Beyond updates and is based on Maxwell's Phonograph from Don't Starve. It can be crafted in the Decorations Filter with 3 Gold Nuggets, 2 Electrical Doodads and 1 Gears and requires an Alchemy Engine to prototype.

The Gramophone can be placed on a Wooden Table or on the ground. Records can be inserted into it to play their corresponding tracks. The music can be heard within a range of 8 tiles from the Gramophone, becoming much quieter the further the Gramophone is from the player, and does not replace the game's ambient music. The music the Gramophone plays can be toggled on and off by interacting with the Gramophone. A Record placed within it requires another to be inserted in order to be removed. The Gramophone can also be be used to tend to Farm Plants within a range of 2 tiles.

Even though the Gramophone is an item, it can be destroyed with a Hammer.

Following records are yet available for the Gramophone:

Placeholder Trivia[]

  • The Gramophone was introduced in the Host of Horrors update.
  • In Don't Starve the Gramophone is called Maxwell's Phonograph and is used in the Epilogue of Adventure Mode.
  • While Maxwell's reaction is expected, Wilson's reaction to the Gramophone is due to him being canonically the one previously trapped on the Nightmare Throne after Maxwell.
  • Woodie's line when examining the Gramophone is a reference to the opening lyric of Nickelback's song, "Photograph".
